Instructions

Instructions:

    Step 1: Preheat & Prep

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Pour the melted butter into a 9x9-inch baking dish.

    Step 2: Make the Batter

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
    • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish (do not stir).

    Step 3: Add the Topping

    • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
    • Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter.
    • Carefully pour the hot water over the top (do not stir).

    Step 4: Bake & Serve

    • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbling.
    • Let cool for about 5 minutes, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

    Pro Tips:

    • ✔ Don’t stir the layers – This helps create the cobbler’s gooey, self-saucing effect.
    • ✔ For extra crunch, sprinkle coarse sugar on top before baking.
    • ✔ Try different flavors – Add a pinch of nutmeg or a dash of caramel sauce for a twist.

    Storage & Reheating Tips:

    • Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
    • Reheat: Warm in the microwave for 20-30 seconds before serving.
    • Freeze: Not recommended, as the texture changes when thawed.
