Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in milk, salt, and pepper.
Pour half of the milk mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheese.
Repeat with remaining potatoes, milk mixture, and cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
Notes
For an extra crispy top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
