Oatmeal bars

Delicious and easy-to-make oatmeal bars, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  • Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
