  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups apples peeled and sliced

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla. Add the dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  • Fold in the apple slices. Pour into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
