Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.
Stir in vanilla. Add the dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Fold in the apple slices. Pour into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra touch, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
