  • 1.5 cup cold milk
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (5.1 ounces)
  • 12 ounce frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 pound angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 21 ounce can cherry pie filling
  • 0.5 cup slivered almonds toasted

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and instant pudding mix for 2 minutes until well combined.
  • Fold in the thawed whipped topping until smooth and set aside.
  • In a trifle bowl or serving dish, layer half of the angel food cake cubes evenly across the bottom.
  • Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cake layer, then spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the pudding.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining cake cubes, pudding mixture, and cherry pie filling.
  • Top with toasted almonds for garnish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

This cake is perfect for making ahead and allowing the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled and enjoy a slice of heaven!
