Fried Chicken Tacos
These Fried Chicken Tacos are crispy, juicy, and bursting with flavor! Tender fried chicken strips are tucked into warm tortillas and topped with fresh slaw, spicy sauce, and all your favorite taco toppings. A guaranteed crowd-pleaser!

For the Fried Chicken:
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup 240ml buttermilk
- 1 cup 120g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup 60g cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Tacos:
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup cilantro optional
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese optional
- Lime wedges for serving
For the Sauce (optional):
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce or sriracha
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
Prepare Breading:
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Fry Chicken:
Heat oil in a frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in flour mix, and fry in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain on paper towels.
Make the Sauce (optional):
Assemble Tacos:
Warm tortillas.
Fill each with fried chicken, shredded cabbage, tomato, onion, and any other toppings.
Drizzle with sauce and squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
