These buttery shortbread cookies are studded with sweet cherries and are perfect for any occasion.

  • 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 cup fresh cherries pitted and halved

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour and powdered sugar.
  • Cut in cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in cherries.
  • Press the dough into an ungreased 9-inch pie plate.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
