Main Ingredients

  • 2 packages ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 8 oz beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  • Pour in beef broth and water, then bring to a simmer. Add ramen noodles and cook according to package directions, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Return cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in the soy sauce mixture and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • If desired, stir in cornstarch slurry and cook for 1 minute until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of chili garlic sauce to the soy sauce mixture.
