Whipped Cream

A light and fluffy homemade whipped cream made with just two ingredients. Perfect for topping desserts, coffee, or fresh fruit.

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Chill a mixing bowl and beaters or whisk in the freezer for 10 minutes before starting.
  • Pour the cold heavy cream into the chilled bowl.
  • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks begin to form, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  • Continue beating until stiff peaks form, about 1-2 more minutes. Be careful not to overbeat, or the cream will turn into butter.
  • Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Notes

For best results, ensure all equipment and ingredients are cold. Overbeating can cause the cream to separate into butter and buttermilk.
