  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.75 cups sliced almonds for topping

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease the muffin cups well.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, and honey until well combined.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fill each muffin cup about three-quarters full. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of each muffin.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  • Allow muffins to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, try drizzling the muffins with additional honey before serving.
