Turtle Brownies: Decadent Chocolate Caramel Dessert

These turtle brownies are a rich, chocolate lover's dream, filled with caramel and topped with pecans.

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 0.5 cups caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 cups pecans chopped

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the melted butter and sugar together until well combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually mix in the flour until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish, then spread the caramel sauce over the top.
  • Add the remaining batter over the caramel layer and smooth out with a spatula.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Notes

Let the brownies cool before slicing to avoid the caramel from oozing out.
