Delicious toffee cookie bars with a buttery shortbread crust and a rich toffee topping.

Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
Press dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Remove from oven and sprinkle toffee bits evenly over the top. Return to oven for 5 minutes, or until toffee is melted.
Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality toffee bits. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
