Texas Roadhouse’s Rolls

A delicious homemade version of the popular restaurant rolls.

Ingredients

  • 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups warm milk about 110 degrees F
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 0.25 ounces
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup melted butter plus more for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps

  • In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let sit until bubbly.
  • Add sugar, butter, eggs, and salt and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough.
  • Cover dough and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • Punch down dough and roll out to half-inch thickness. Cut into rolls.
  • Place on greased baking sheets, cover, and let rise again until doubled.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Brush hot rolls with melted butter before serving.

Notes

For even softer rolls, allow for longer rise times.
