tater tot casserole

A classic and comforting tater tot casserole, perfect for a weeknight meal or a potluck.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup chopped bell pepper any color
  • 0.75 cup cream of mushroom soup canned
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots 16 ounce
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and bell pepper. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  • Spread the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Top with a layer of frozen tater tots.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and tater tots are golden brown.
  • Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole is very versatile. Feel free to add other vegetables or seasonings to your liking.
