Taco Pie Recipe

This delicious Taco Pie combines all the flavors of traditional tacos baked into a hearty pie.

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef lean
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts 2 crusts

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add taco seasoning, black beans, and salsa to the beef. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Place one pie crust in the bottom of a pie pan. Spread half of the beef mixture into the crust.
  • Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
  • Cover with the second pie crust and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top to vent.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground turkey for the beef or add extra veggies for a twist.
