Swedish Meatball Recipe

A classic recipe for juicy Swedish meatballs, served with creamy gravy and mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
  

Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 1 egg Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper

Gravy

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined.
  • Roll the meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  • In a large skillet, brown the meatballs over medium heat. Transfer to a baking dish.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened.
  • Pour gravy over meatballs. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce.
