Super Sriracha Sauce: Homemade Heat

Satisfy your craving for heat with this homemade Sriracha sauce. Perfect for adding a spicy kick to any dish!

  • 1.5 lbs red jalapeño peppers Stems removed
  • 5 cloves garlic peeled
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Blend the peppers and garlic until finely chopped.
  • Transfer the mixture to a large saucepan and add vinegar, salt, sugar, and water. Stir until well combined.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat, and cook for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly, then blend again until smooth.
  • Strain the sauce to remove any solids, and pour into sterilized jars. Allow to cool before sealing.

Notes

For a milder version, use more sugar and fewer jalapeños. Store in the fridge for up to 3 months.
