Instructions
Preparation Steps
Season the shrimp with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Meanwhile, cook linguine in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in chopped basil and Parmesan cheese.
Stir the cooked pasta into the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency. Add shrimp and toss to combine.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add extra red pepper flakes before serving.
