Spicy Mango BBQ Chicken Sliders: A Flavor Fiesta!

Experience a tropical twist with these Spicy Mango BBQ Chicken Sliders, combining sweet mango flavors with a hint of heat, served with fresh cilantro and tangy lime crema.

Ingredients
  

Mango BBQ Sauce

  • 1.5 cups pureed mango fresh or frozen
  • 0.25 cup honey adjust for sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar adds tanginess
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce for umami
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha for heat
  • 0.5 teaspoon ginger powder optional

Sliders

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for grilling
  • 1 teaspoon salt season to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper to taste
  • 8 pieces slider buns or small rolls
  • 1 cup cilantro leaves for garnish

Lime Crema

  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 teaspoon lime zest finely grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt to taste

Preparation Steps

  • Make the Mango BBQ Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine pureed mango, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, sriracha, and ginger powder. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken strips with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Grill on a preheated grill over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes per side until cooked through.
  • Mix the Lime Crema: In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, lime juice, lime zest, and salt. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Assemble the Sliders: On each slider bun, place a piece of grilled chicken. Top with cilantro leaves, a drizzle of mango BBQ sauce, and lime crema. Top with slider bun and serve.

Notes

These sliders are perfect for a summer cookout or any gathering where you want to impress with a unique combination of flavors. Feel free to adjust the spiciness by adding more or less sriracha.
