Spicy Baked Salsa Chicken Dip

Create a party-perfect dip combining shredded chicken, spicy salsa, creamy cheese, and a burst of chilis, served warm and bubbly!

  • 4 cups cooked shredded chicken rotisserie chicken recommended
  • 3 cups spicy salsa homemade or store-bought
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 5 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar blend
  • 0.5 cup diced green chiles canned or fresh
  • 0.5 cup diced onions preferably red onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked
  • 12 slices cooked bacon diced, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, salsa, chiles, onions, chicken, garlic powder, salt, half of the cheese, and half of the bacon. Stir well.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly across the dish.
  • Top with the remaining cheese and optional additional bacon.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are bubbly and the cheese melts to a golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with tortilla chips or pita bread.

Notes

Adjust spice level by choosing mild, medium, or hot salsa. Prepare ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake for convenience.
