Southwestern Turkey Chili

This hearty Southwestern Turkey Chili is made with lean turkey, vibrant vegetables, and aromatic spices for a comforting meal.

  • 1 pound ground turkey lean
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers mix of red and green
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 15 oz can of black beans drained and rinsed
  • 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 cup chicken broth low sodium

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and bell peppers to the pot. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until softened.
  • Stir in chili powder and cook for 1 minute to toast spices.
  • Add black beans, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and let chili simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

This chili can be topped with avocado slices and a dollop of sour cream for added richness.
