  • 4 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth or more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Cook bacon in a large pot over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.
  • Add chopped onion to the pot with the bacon drippings and sauté until translucent.
  • Add green beans, chicken broth, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring to a simmer.
  • Cover and cook for about 45 minutes, adding more broth if necessary, until beans are tender.
  • Stir in the cooked bacon before serving.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of broth to your liking for more or less 'soupy' beans.
