Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

A creamy and delicious side dish that's perfect for any meal. The slow cooker does all the work to ensure these mashed potatoes have the perfect consistency.

  • 5 pounds russet potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth low sodium
  • 0.5 cup sour cream full-fat for creaminess
  • 0.5 cup butter unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt preferably sea salt
  • to taste black pepper freshly ground

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Place the diced potatoes in the slow cooker and pour in the chicken broth.
  • Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or until the potatoes are tender.
  • Add the sour cream, butter, and garlic powder to the potatoes.
  • Mash the potatoes using a potato masher until smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add roasted garlic or cheese to the mashed potatoes.
