Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 18 ounces BBQ sauce your favorite brand
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a 6-quart or larger slow cooker.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Carefully remove the cooked chicken breasts from the slow cooker and place them on a cutting board or in a large bowl. Using two forks, shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the remaining sauce until thoroughly coated.
  • Serve the slow cooker BBQ pulled chicken warm on hamburger buns, in tortillas for tacos, or over rice. Enjoy!

Notes

This pulled chicken is fantastic for meal prepping! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. It also freezes well for future quick meals. For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
