  • 8 oz croissants cut into pieces
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
  • Arrange croissant pieces in the prepared baking dish. Evenly sprinkle cooked sausage over the croissants.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and maple syrup. Pour over the sausage and croissants.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the casserole is golden and set.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, consider adding chopped chives or a sprinkle of nutmeg.
