Savory Kielbasa with Cabbage and Carrots

This delicious slow-cooker meal combines savory kielbasa, tender cabbage, and sweet carrots for a comforting dinner option.

  • 1.5 pounds kielbasa cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 head green cabbage chopped
  • 4 whole carrots peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps

  • Cut the kielbasa into 1-inch slices. Chop the cabbage and peel and slice the carrots.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the kielbasa slices and cook until browned.
  • In the slow cooker, layer the cabbage, browned kielbasa, and carrots.
  • Pour the vegetable broth over the layered ingredients in the slow cooker. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Once cooked, stir the content gently to mix the flavors before serving.

Notes

For added richness, top the cooked dish with your favorite cheese before serving.
