Ingredients

  • 4 bagels plain, everything, or your favorite flavor
  • 4 sausage patties store-bought or homemade
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons 0.1 lb butter (for toasting)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Sliced avocado
  • Tomato slices
  • Hot sauce
  • Cream cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Sausage Patties

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until browned and fully cooked (internal temperature of 160°F/71°C).
  • Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

Step 2: Prepare the Eggs

  • In a bowl, whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Heat the same skillet over medium heat. Pour the eggs into the pan and cook gently, scrambling or folding them until set. Divide into four portions.

Step 3: Toast the Bagels

  • Spread butter on the cut sides of each bagel. Toast them in the skillet or under the broiler until golden brown and crisp.

Step 4: Assemble the Breakfast Bagels

  • Place a sausage patty on the bottom half of each toasted bagel.
  • Top with a portion of eggs and a slice of cheese.
  • Add any optional toppings, like avocado or hot sauce.
  • Close the sandwiches with the top half of the bagels.

Step 5: Serve or Freeze

  • Serve warm, or wrap the sandwiches individually in foil or plastic wrap for freezing.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheating Tip: To reheat, microwave on high for 1–2 minutes or bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes.
  • Variations: Swap sausage for bacon or ham, or use bagel thins for a lighter option.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with a side of fruit or a smoothie for a complete breakfast.
