Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the sausage until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté the bell pepper, asparagus, and zucchini until they start to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the garlic and smoked paprika, cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.
Stir in the heavy cream and cooked sausage, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix the cooked noodles into the sausage and vegetable mixture.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
To add an extra savory layer, mix in a handful of sun-dried tomatoes before baking. Adjust seasoning to taste.
