Pierogi Casserole Recipe

This Pierogi Casserole recipe is a comforting and delicious take on traditional pierogies, baked as a convenient casserole.

  • 3 cups mashed potatoes Prepared and seasoned
  • 1 pound lasagna noodles Cooked
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup butter Melted
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Layer half of the lasagna noodles in the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
  • Spread half of the mashed potatoes over the noodles.
  • Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
  • Repeat layers with remaining noodles, potatoes, and cheese.
  • In a small bowl, mix sour cream with melted butter and spread evenly on the top layer.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until bubbling and golden brown.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Make sure to cook the lasagna noodles just until al dente as they will cook further while baking.
