Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare brownie mix according to package directions, including eggs, oil, and water. Bake in a greased 9x13 inch pan until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let brownies cool completely. Once cooled, cut into 1-inch cubes.
  • For the peanut butter mousse: In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the whipped heavy cream until no streaks remain.
  • For the chocolate ganache: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Assemble the trifle: In a large trifle dish or individual glasses, layer brownie cubes, peanut butter mousse, and a drizzle of chocolate ganache. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mousse.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Garnish with chopped peanut butter cups and chocolate syrup.
