Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners, and place half an Oreo cookie in the bottom of each liner.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, covering the Oreo halves.
Bake for 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
Notes
For an extra Oreo twist, crush extra cookies and sprinkle over the frosting.
