Ingredients
- 16 ounces Italian sausage
- 1/2 small onion finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/3 cup dry white wine
- 1 14-ounce can diced tomatoes with juices
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
- 1 handful fresh basil torn
- to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
Sauté the sausage and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for 7 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
Add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
Add the wine and cook for about 1 minute.
Stir in the tomatoes with their juices, cream, and gnocchi. When bubbling, cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook for 5 minutes.
Uncover, stir, and cook a few minutes more until the gnocchi is soft and the sauce has thickened.
Stir in Parmesan, basil, salt, and pepper, then serve immediately.
