For the Brownie Layer:
- ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
For the Cookie Layer:
- ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Step 1: Preheat & Prepare the Pan
Step 2: Make the Brownie Layer
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, and stir until well combined.
Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Step 3: Make the Cookie Dough
In the same bowl (no need to clean it!), whisk together softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar until creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
