Brownie Layer

  • 18 oz chocolate brownie mix for an 8x8 inch pan
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten

Cheesecake Swirl

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, melted butter, and beaten eggs. Stir until smooth and well incorporated.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the sugar and continue to mix until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture in dollops over the brownie batter, then swirl with a knife for a marble effect.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For extra decadence, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before serving.
