This easy Lasagna Dip recipe is a crowd-pleasing appetizer that comes together in less than 30 minutes. Featuring layers of seasoned ground beef, marinara, cream cheese, and gooey melted mozzarella and cheddar, it’s perfect for parties or a cozy night in.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup cremini mushrooms cleaned and sliced
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon freeze dried basil
  • butter for baking dish
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Crackers for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onion; cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  • Add beef and season with salt, pepper, oregano and basil; continue to cook until meat is browned.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Grease a round 8-inch baking dish with butter.
  • Spread the softened cream cheese on the bottom of the dish.
  • Spread the meat mixture over the cream cheese, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  • Serve warm with crackers.
