Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk warmed
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup prepared beef gravy warmed
- 1 teaspoon McCormick Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Black Pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 4 cups hot French fries
Instructions
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in the warm milk. Cook, whisking, until the sauce thickens and is smooth, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the cheddar and mozzarella a handful at a time, stirring until melted before adding more.
Stir in the beef gravy, garlic powder, and black pepper. Warm gently until fully combined; do not boil.
Pile the hot French fries onto a platter or divide among bowls. Spoon the cheese-gravy dip over the fries and finish with green onions if using. Serve immediately.
