Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add salt, flour, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down dough and shape into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan.
Let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
This recipe can be easily adapted to your liking. Try adding herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
