  • 4 potato hamburger buns brioche preferred
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese sharp, aged
  • 1 tsp garlic powder for seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing

Condiments and Toppings

  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise full-fat
  • 0.25 cup barbecue sauce smoky flavor
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions; flatten each into thin patties.
  • Season each patty on both sides with garlic powder and black pepper.

Cooking Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties until browned, about 3 minutes each side.
  • Top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese, stack two patties together, and cover to melt cheese.
  • Toast buns in a dry pan until golden brown.

Assembly

  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, and barbecue sauce on the top bun.
  • Place the cheesy burger stack on the bottom bun, add tomato slices and lettuce.
  • Cover with top bun and serve hot.
