How to Make the Best Creamy Garlic Mushroom Chicken
This Creamy Garlic Mushroom Chicken is the perfect comfort food all year round. Made with tender chicken breasts, mushrooms, garlic, and a delicious parmesan cream sauce.
Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken in the oil until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes each side. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping any bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream and thyme.
Add the Parmesan cheese gradually and stir until melted into the sauce.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Cook for another 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickened to your liking.
Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and thyme if desired.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, allow it to simmer for a longer time, stirring regularly to prevent sticking. You can serve it over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to mop up the sauce.
