  • 1 tsp chili powder adjust for heat preference
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth low sodium
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 tbsp butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp cilantro roughly chopped
  • 1 unit lime wedges for serving

Preparation Steps

  • Season the chicken with chili powder, ensuring even coverage on both sides.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in chicken broth and lime juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, reduce heat, and simmer for another 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  • Remove from heat. Add butter and swirl to melt. Sprinkle with cilantro.
  • Serve hot with lime wedges and enjoy!

Notes

For an additional layer of flavor, marinate the chicken in lime juice and spices for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the level of spice to your liking.
