Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, apple pie spice, and brown sugar.
Add the cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Fold in the chopped apples and pour in the buttermilk and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently press into a rectangle. Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
The biscuits are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
