  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown and tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually mix in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Cook angel hair pasta in a pot of boiling water until al dente, about 4 minutes. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  • Combine pasta with the mushroom sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to combine, adding reserved pasta water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding a splash of white wine to the sauce during the simmering step. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stove.
