Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the oil, then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in lime zest.
Gently fold in the blueberries. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
To add extra flavor, sprinkle additional lime zest on the frosting. Refrigerate for up to 3 days for best taste.
