Preparation Steps
Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the onion and green bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, and cumin. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until thickened.
Serve over hot dogs.
Notes
For a spicier chili, add more chili powder or a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also add other vegetables, such as corn or carrots.
