Honey Mustard Chicken

A sweet and tangy honey mustard chicken recipe featuring tender chicken breasts glazed with a homemade honey mustard sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

  • 4 breasts boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 0.5 cup Dijon mustard
  • 0.333 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for thickening

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, black pepper, thyme, and paprika until smooth. Set aside.
  • Place the chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Season both sides with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  • Pour half of the honey mustard mixture over the chicken breasts, spreading evenly to coat. Reserve the remaining mixture for basting later.
  • Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and brush the reserved honey mustard glaze over the top of each piece.
  • Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the glaze is caramelized.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally drizzling with extra glaze from the pan.

Notes

Optional: Serve with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
