Honey Garlic Sauce Salmon

Pan-seared salmon fillets finish in a glossy honey garlic sauce with lime and soy for a fast, flavorful dinner.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter divided
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets about 4 ounces each
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoky or sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • sliced green onions and lime wedges for serving

  • Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a 10- to 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Combine cumin, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Season the salmon, place it skin-side down in the skillet, and cook 4 to 5 minutes until about three-quarters cooked.
  • Flip the salmon, add the remaining butter, and once melted add the minced garlic.
  • Whisk honey, soy sauce, and lime juice. Pour over the salmon and cook 2 minutes, spooning sauce over the fillets until cooked through and slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with green onions, and serve with lime wedges.
