Honey Garlic Chicken

A sweet and savory honey garlic chicken recipe featuring tender chicken thighs glazed with a flavorful sauce made from honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Perfect served over rice or noodles.

  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil optional
  • 2 green onion sliced for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened further.
  • Stir in sesame oil if using. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
