  • 1.5 pounds chicken breasts boneless and skinless
  • 8 cups chicken broth low sodium
  • 2 cups carrots sliced
  • 2 cups celery sliced
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 package egg noodles 8 ounces
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Preparation Steps

  • In a large pot, combine chicken, broth, carrots, celery, and onion. Cook until the chicken is tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the broth and shred it with two forks.
  • Return the chicken to the pot, add the noodles, and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

This soup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
