Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 4 cups green beans, trimmed and cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch divided
  • 1 cup beef broth divided

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, and half the cornstarch with half the beef broth. Whisk until cornstarch is completely dissolved.
  • In another bowl, coat the beef strips with garlic and ginger. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  • Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet.
  • In the same skillet, add the green beans and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and green beans, stirring to coat. Cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Mix the remaining cornstarch with the remaining beef broth to make a slurry. Add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, approximately 1 minute.
  • Serve immediately over steamed rice.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes while cooking the beef. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
