Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley.
  • Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges, over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp and do not overcook to maintain tenderness.
